The aim of the course is to have students develop their basic mathematic-scientific skills and apply these skills to professional work. The course-specific learning objectives are as follows:
-The student develops his/her problem solving skills by deepening the knowledge of basic mathematics as well as commercial mathematics.
-The student is able to apply his/her mathematical skills and the basics and methods of statistical management to solving problems of the profession
-The student learns systematic problem solving methods characteristic to physics
- The student knows how to make use of physics in relation to environmental technological problems and learns how to apply the physical knowledge to professional situations.
-The student is familiar with the structure of chemical substances and with the characteristics of inorganic as well as organic compounds that are significant to the environment
-The student recognizes the environmentally dangerous and poisonous substances and learns how to prevent and restrict the damages they cause in nature and in the working environment.
